Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Launches Nursing Care and Day Care Facility for Women Employees

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Ltd. has launched a Nursing Care Room and Day Care Facility at its Central Office in Durbar Marg to support women employees and promote a more inclusive, mother-friendly workplace.

The facility, launched during World Breastfeeding Week 2026 (August 1–7), provides breastfeeding mothers with a safe, hygienic, comfortable and private space to nurse and care for their infants. It was formally inaugurated by the President of the Mahalaxmi Women’s Leadership and Development Forum.

The initiative reflects the bank’s continued focus on gender equality, women’s empowerment, employee well-being and work-life balance. The bank said the facility is part of its broader commitment to creating an employee- and family-friendly workplace while encouraging other organizations to adopt mother-friendly practices.

The Mahalaxmi Women’s Leadership and Development Forum was established on the bank’s 32nd anniversary to strengthen women’s leadership, professional development and participation in institutional growth. Meanwhile, the bank has also recently brought its Digital Hub with a Coffee Lounge into operation at Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu.
