Machhapuchchhre Bank clarifies on recent incident of fraud on its Rautahat based customer; urges all banking customers to be careful while using digital banking platforms

Machhapuchchhre Bank has issued a media statement addressing the recent incident where one of its account holders from Chandrapur branch in Rautahat reportedly lost the account balance to some frauds.
As per the statement following the investigation from the bank, it has been found that someone had accessed the mobile banking service of the customer who then transferred the fund to different bank accounts and digital wallets. The bank also claimed that there is no any lapse in its system, rather the fraudsters had accessed the OTP codes and SMSs sent by the bank before transferring the money, as per the media statement.
The bank also informed that it has lodged the police case while the police are currently investigating on the gravity of the fraud. Meanwhile, the bank has urged all the banking customers of all the BFIs to use the digital banking platforms prudently and safely to prevent any such frauds in future, as per the media statement.
