Lumbini Technological University Concludes National Conference 2026 on Technology for Transformation
The National Conference 2026, themed “Technology for Transformation,” organized by Lumbini Technological University, concluded on Sunday after two days of discussions on innovation, research, and digital solutions for sustainable development.
The conference focused on advancing technology-driven and IT-based practical solutions to address development challenges in Lumbini Province. It also emphasized strengthening collaboration among universities, industries, and government institutions while encouraging research and innovation initiatives.
The event brought together experts from engineering, information technology, research, and innovation sectors, along with professors, researchers, and students from various institutions.
According to University Dean Dr. Niraj KC, the conference aimed to identify practical and technology-oriented solutions for the sustainable development of the province. He noted that key issues such as rising temperatures, water management challenges, and local development constraints were also discussed during the sessions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Binod Prasad Dhakal said that the participation of students from Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, and Butwal highlighted growing academic engagement across regions. He added that such initiatives are expected to support the long-term vision of developing Nepalgunj as a hub for technology and innovation.
During a panel discussion, Sanjay Thapa suggested that cross-border academic and technological cooperation could serve as a starting point for strengthening Nepalgunj’s IT ecosystem. He proposed encouraging participation from students in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, and stressed the need to increase public awareness about the importance of information technology.
It is worth noting that the university, established as a pride project of Lumbini Province, has now successfully organized a symposium, an international conference, and a national conference within just three years of its establishment, reflecting its growing academic footprint.
