Low Movement in Nepse

Nepal Stock Exchange after a continues improvement for past three trading days, today it fell by meager 0.1 or 0.02% points. The secondary market of Nepal was passive today as it saw low volatile than previous trading days. The local bourse couldn’t even make a point movement in the entire day as it traded between the range of 417 to 417.8 level. Despite low movement, the turnover was above than the daily average of Rs 50 million and came to settle at 417.29 level.

 

As today was the book closure date of Nabil Bank Limited (NBL), the price of the scrip was adjusted to the opening price of Rs 1154. Till the end of the date, the scrip suffered loss of Rs 34 as it settled at Rs 1120. Similarly, the price of SCB, SBL, LBL, HBL, BOK and SBL also came down overall dragging the Banking sector by 1.5 or 0.42% points. Likewise remaining two Banking and Financial Institutions indices i.e. Development and Finance also plummeted by 1.37 or 0.57% and 1.26 or 0.49% points respectively. In Development, the two digit drop in the price of Sewa Bikas Bank Limited (SEWA), Swabalamwan Bikash Bank (SWBBL), Nerude Laghubita Bikas Bank Limited (NLBBL), Shangrila Development Bank Ltd. (SADBL) and Muktinath Bikas Bank Ltd. (MNBBL) mainly contributed to its decline.

 

As for Hotels and Insurance sector, both skid by 11.44 or 2.02% and 3.62 or 0.52% points respectively. Under Hotels, backtrack in the price Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) by Rs 9 mainly pulled the sector down. Whereas in Insurance, the decline in the price of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL) and National Life Insu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL) by Rs 52, Rs 20 and Rs 19 respectively helped in its downfall.

 

Today only Hydro and Others sector were able to add points in their respective tally. The surge in insurance by 15.8 or 1.83% points came with improvement in the price of Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 26. In the same way, the jump in the price of NTC by Rs 5 uplifted the Other sector by 5.87 or 0.8 points.

 

Overall there were 103 scrips traded among which 39 scrips increased, 22 remain intact and 42 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Everest Insurance Company Limited (EIC) which resumed its transaction from today, with Rs 32 or 9.85%.The scrip of EIC came to close at Rs 357 at the end of the day. Whereas, Sewa Bikas Bank Limited (SEWA), closed at Rs 130, was the Top Loser with Rs 124 or 15.58%.


In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC), closed at Rs 626, topped with 10,770 units worth Rs 6,723,800 via 40 transactions; in Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 34.50% stand alone dealing of NTC, totaling 3,720 units worth Rs 2,320,120 via 7 transactions which includes 1 matching transactions of 410 units worth Rs 254,610.


The total turnover today was 58,090,333 which is comparatively Rs 3,083,257 or 5.04% lower than prior trading session. Overall 219,333 units of shares were traded via 1,513 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 395,140.96 Millions.
