LOW MOVEMENT IN NEPSE

The movement in the market today was less than that of the preceding days. The market index for the entire session was traded between the range of 528.5 to 526 levels which compare to previous day’s fluctuation of four to five points seemed pretty less volatile.  After the start of trade from the yesterday’s closing level, local bourse gradually decline to the lowest of 526.14 levels by the first 75 minutes of trade then taking support at that level, it increased with the rocky climb up to the today’s closing level of 527.98 levels which is lower by 0.39 points than yesterday.

Among the trade of seven sub-indices today, four inclined and three declined today. The Other sector made the most gain today as it surged by 5.88 points following the jump in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited by Rs 5. Similarly, increment in the level of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) by Rs 5 and Rs 2 respectively pushed the Hydro up by 1.19 points.

Likewise, Development and Finance made soar of 0.01 and 0.06 points. In Development, the BOD of Supreme Development Bank Ltd. (SUPRME), closed at Rs 86, has decided to give 10% cash dividend and 5% bonus share to its shareholders, which are subject to approval from NRB and its upcoming AGM.  The announcement supported to uplift the scrip by Rs 7 today which mainly helped to sustain the sector in the green pasture.

 Whereas, the plunge in the price of Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference (EBLCP), Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) and Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) by Rs  32, Rs 12, Rs 8 and Rs 8 respectively pulled the Banking sector down by 2.05 points. Similarly, Insurance also plummeted today by 0.29 points. While, the decrease in the value of Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL) pushed the Hotels sector downhill by 0.75 points.

Overall there was trade of 88 scrips among which only 24 scrips increased 18 remained intact and 46 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Seti Finance Limited (SETI), closed at Rs 101, with Rs 9 or 9.78% gain. Whereas the highest loser of the day was, Arun Finance Limited (ARUN), closed at Rs 26, with Rs 1.57 or 5.69% loss.  Among the shares trading above the par, Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL), closed at Rs 173, was the top loser with Rs 10 or 5.46% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1), closed at Rs 11.69, topped with 538,950 units. In terms of turnover, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 137, topped with 82,393 units worth Rs 11,305,495 via 92 transactions; in which Broker no 48 (Trishakti Century Public Limited) was the most active Broker with 23.36% stand alone dealing of KIST, tallying 19,100 units worth Rs 2,641,500 via 22 transactions which includes one matching transactions of 500 units worth Rs 69,500.

Altogether there were trade of 924,720 units of share via 1, 410 transactions worth Rs 94,685,791; the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 512,637.26 million.
