Laxmi Sunrise Bank Releases Groundbreaking Carbon Emission Report

Laxmi Sunrise demonstrates its environmental commitment by releasing a comprehensive Carbon Emission report for its Motor Vehicle loans and Mortgages asset class up to FY 2079/80.

As a member of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), the bank follows a global standard for assessing and disclosing greenhouse gas emissions associated with its loans and investments.

The report indicates that motor vehicle loans contributed 3,644.51 tCO2e, while mortgages accounted for 12,320.60 tCO2e of emissions until the last fiscal year.

Armed with this data, Laxmi Sunrise outlines its proactive measures, including financing green projects, improving digital platforms, and engaging clients in sustainable practices.

The bank plans to expand emission calculations to cover its entire portfolio, aligning with its broader strategy for a greener future. Laxmi Sunrise, with 258 branches and 320 ATMs, stands as a leader in promoting sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship in Nepal.
