Laxmi Sunrise Bank Leads Consortium in Financing Super Bagmati Hydropower Project

A consortium of banks, led by Laxmi Sunrise Bank Ltd., has entered into a facility agreement with Super Bagmati Hydropower Ltd. to finance the construction of the Super Lower Bagmati Hydropower Project.

The project, located in Lalitpur and Makwanpur districts along the Bagmati River, is estimated to cost NPR 9.28 billion and will add significantly to Nepal's renewable energy capacity.

Super Bagmati Hydropower has already obtained the necessary licenses and agreements for the project, with financing commitments from banks totaling 74.33% of the project cost.

The project is expected to generate 243.8 GWh of power annually upon its completion in June 2028. This marks a significant step towards enhancing Nepal's energy independence.
