Launches galore at NADA Auto Show

The first day of the NADA Auto Show 2014, which kicked off on here Wednesday, saw the launch of more than a dozen vehicles.
The most awaited Maruti Suzuki Celerio made its Nepal debut through the expo. The car, equipped with “automated manual transmission” system, comes with an introductory price of Rs 1.9 million. CG MotoCorp, authorised distributor of Maruti Suzuki, claims the car offer a mileage of 23.1kmpl on city roads. The car features auto gear shift, large 235l, 15 smart utility spaces, customised car security multi- information display, among others.
Honda’s distributor Syakar Trading Company unveiled the seven-seater Mobilio MUV. The vehicle comes with 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine which delivers a maximum power of 119ps at 6,600rpm and maximum torque of 145Nm at 4,600rpm.
The company claims the Mobilio offers as mileage of 17.3kmpl. Other features include rear-view parking camera, 10-spoke alloy wheels and fog lights, among others. The vehicle is priced between Rs 3.09 million and Rs 4.4 million.
United Traders Syndicate, sole authorised distributor of Toyota, introduced the Etios Cross. The crossover vehicle is equipped with 1496cc petrol engine that runs 16.78kmpl.
The vehicle comes with a 45-litre fuel tank, 251-litre boot space and 185/60 R15 tubeless tyres. Other features are electronic power steering with driver side auto down, three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, remote fuel lid and tailgate opener, keyless entry, diamond cut alloy wheels and front grille with grille guard.
Targeted at emerging markets, the Datsun GO also made its Nepal debut through the expo. According to Pioneer MotoCorp, authorised distributor of Datsun, the car has modern five-door, five-seat to offer accessible transport. The car is designed to offer a modern driving experience combined with spaciousness, quality and fuel efficiency for a new breed of modern customers who seek a practical and value-for-money product.
Nepal General Marketing, authorised distributor of Hero, launched five new motorcycles, including the Karizma, Karazima ZMR, Xtreme Sports, Passion Pro TR and Splender Pro Classic. Karizma is priced at Rs 259,000, while the Karizma ZMR is priced at Rs 320,000.
Mahindra’s importer SG GLobal launched three new two-wheelers, including the Centuro Rockstar, Mozo and the new Rodeo UZO 125 scooter. Mahindra aims to redefine benchmarks of the scooter category with the head-turning style, rally winning performance and unique features of the UZO 125. The scooter has striking new racing styled body graphics and coloured red wheels which give it a dramatic sporty presence. The look is further enhanced by the two tone, dual texture seat which has been specially designed to minimize slippage in high acceleration and sharp breaking usage, the company said.
