LATE MINUTE IMPROVEMENT IN BANKING AND OTHERS SCRIPS HELP NARROW NEPSE’S LOSS

The only secondary market of Nepal today also continued its downfall. The market index today dropped by 0.36 point to close at 808.09 level.
The tumble in the stock prices of banking and others sector along with the hydro scrips mainly kept the local bourse on red zone throughout the day.
However, the last minute improvement in the banking and Others scrips helped narrow the Nepse’s fall below one point.
Banking sub-index in the last minutes came to bounce back from the loss of 2.95 points to 0.94 point only whereas Others sector came to remain intact at 769.52 points from the loss of 2.35 points.
While, Hydro plunged by 30.04 points. Likewise, Hotels sector also came to witness decline of 22.17 points by the day’s end.
In contrast, Insurance today recouped by 37.52 points followed by Development and Finance with gain of 0.54 point and 1.44 points respectively.
Altogether there were trade of 124 scrips, among which 55 scrips gained, 13 scrips remained intact and 56 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Kakre Bihar Bikash Bank Ltd. (KKBL), closed Rs 253, with a gain of Rs 23 or 10 percent. Whereas, City Development Bank Limited (CDBL), closed at Rs 354, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 21 or 5.60 percent.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1889, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 13,653 units of CHCL were traded through 141 transactions worth Rs 25,833,704.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 19 (Nepal Investment & Securities Trading Pvt. Ltd) with 11.62 percent standalone dealing, totaling 3,173 units worth Rs 6,003,750 via 19 transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 245,992,582, with total number of shares traded at 538,527 units which were traded through 2,135 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 823,526.10 Millions.
