LAST MINUTE GAIN IN BANKING AND DEVELOPMENT HELPS NEPSE NARROW ITS LOSS

After commencing the trade below the yesterday’s closing, the secondary market made numerous attempts to surface in wining zone but each time failed with resistance in the upper level of 494 levels.
It was the last minute gain in the levels of Banking and Development that boosted the Nepse index and helped narrow its loss to meager 0.02 points.
The market index today closed at 487.6 levels.
Banking and Development by the end of the session made a gain of 0.18 and 0.3 points respectively. As for remaining sub-groups, Hotels plummeted by 3.25 points followed by Hydro with 1.94 point loss. Similarly, Finance dropped by 0.28 points and Insurance declined by 0.74 points. While, Manufacturing and Others remained intact at 878.17 and 622.7 levels respectively.
The best performer for the day was, NB Insurance Co. Ltd (NBIL), closed at Rs 46.2, with Rs 4.2 or 10% gain. Among the shares trading above par, Agricultural Development Bank (ADBL), closed at Rs 214, was the top gainer with Rs 10 or 4.9% gain. Whereas, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 570, was the worst performer with Rs 40 or 6.56% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10, topped with 115,424 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CTBNL), closed at Rs 140, topped with 21,917 units.
In terms of turnover, Everest Bank Limited (EBL), closed at Rs 1537, topped with 16,316 units worth Rs 24,825,210 via 74 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of EBL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 49.56%; amounting Rs. 24,609,120 via 22 transactions totaling 16,230 units which includes 3 matching transactions tallying 5,330 units worth Rs 8,074,950.
Overall, 359,952 units of shares were traded via 1301 transactions worth Rs 72,688,446.The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 489,697.57 Millions.
