Last Day to Apply for Broker License; How Many Companies Have Applied For Broker License So Far?

On Ashoj 2, the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) announced the opening of a new broker license application with a 30-day grace period. The deadline for submitting an application for a new broker license is today.

According to the Securities Act, of 2064, a recommendation letter from the relevant securities market is required when applying for a broker license and other securities business. As a result, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) approval is mandatory to apply for the new broker licenses.

In accordance with the updated regulations, for obtaining a broker license the paid-up capital of fully operational securities brokers is Rs. 60 crores, the paid-up capital of limited trading securities brokers is Rs. 20 crores, and the paid-up capital of the securities dealer is Rs. 1.50 arba.

As per reports, 38 companies have requested recommendations for new broker licenses from NEPSE as of yesterday. The list of companies that have requested the aforementioned license is provided below.

Of those, 17 applicants applied for limited brokerage service, 2 for full brokerage service, and 1 application was submitted for a stock dealer license.
