The National Stock Pitching Competition (NSPC) 2026, organized by the KUSOM Finance Club, a student-led organization of the Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), concluded successfully on July 12, with Team Monometrics Lab from KUSOM emerging as the National Champion. The grand finale was held at The Plaza Hotel, Pulchowk, bringing together the country's top student teams in equity research and investment analysis.

Organized annually to enhance financial literacy, investment awareness, and capital market knowledge among university students, NSPC 2026 was conducted in all seven provinces of Nepal between May 12 and May 25, followed by a dedicated Kathmandu Valley round on June 26, before culminating in the national championship. The competition challenged participating teams to select a company listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), conduct comprehensive fundamental and technical analyses, and present evidence-based investment recommendations before a panel of experienced capital market professionals.

This year's edition expanded its national footprint by engaging more than 50 colleges and over 40 competing teams through eight provincial and regional rounds. In addition to the competition, participants benefited from financial literacy sessions, quizzes, and networking opportunities, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and practical investment decision-making. The winning Team Monometrics Lab, represented by Safal Acharya and Anjil Acharya, first secured victory in the Bagmati Province – Kathmandu Round with an investment presentation on Global IME Capital before maintaining their strong performance to claim the national title.

Team Grow More from Chitwan finished as the first runner-up after presenting an analysis of Sahas Urja Limited, while Team Artha from Lumbini Province, which pitched Everest Bank Limited, secured the position of second runner-up. The Grand Finale featured champions from all seven provincial rounds, along with the Kathmandu Round winner, competing for the national championship before a distinguished panel of judges comprising Bigyan Bhandari, Head of Investment at Himalayan Everest Insurance; Pratik Koju, Head of Mutual Fund at NMB Capital; Shulav Shrestha, Deputy CEO of Himalayan Securities; and Nirajan Karki, Chief Investment Officer at Siddhartha Capital Limited.

The event was attended by Dhruba Timilsina, Chairman of the Nepal Private Equity Association, as the Chief Guest, while Dev Prakash Gupta, CEO of Eshare Solutions and President of the KUSOM Alumni Association, participated as the Guest of Honour. NSPC 2026 was presented by the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SBAN), with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) and the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) serving as regulatory partners. The competition also received support from leading institutions including Siddhartha Capital, NMB Capital, Machhapuchchhre Capital, Himalayan Capital, Global IME Capital, ConnectIPS, 4 Nations International, Ansu Invest, Smart Wealth Pro, Dami Experience, and Nepali Paisa.

According to the organizers, the competition's decentralized approach successfully expanded participation into provinces with relatively limited exposure to structured stock pitching competitions, encouraging students outside major academic hubs such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan to engage with Nepal's capital market. The KUSOM Finance Club stated that it plans to further expand the competition in future editions by strengthening partnerships with educational institutions, organizing pre-competition orientation workshops, and establishing sustainable student finance networks across all seven provinces to promote long-term financial education and investment awareness.
