KUSOM Finance Club conducts panel discussion on Role of Stakeholders in Instilling Corporate Governance Mechanism
Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) Finance Club has successfully conducted a panel discussion on one of the most pressing issues, "The Role of Stakeholders in Instilling Corporate Governance Mechanism." The panelists comprised of experts from various fields.

Mr. Sulav Shrestha, Acting CEO of Mega Capital Ltd, Mr. Bhuwan Raj Panta, Head of Corporate Advisory of NIBL Ace Capital, and, Ms. Roshee Lamichhane, Associate Professor of KUSOM and an expert in consumer behavior, represented as panelists in the event. The panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Aswin Parajuli, the CEO of the Society of Economic Journalists - Nepal (SEJON). The discussion was attended by hundreds of students from various courses, both from inside and outside the university, from MBA to BBA students who were keen enthusiasts of finance.
The event began formally after a welcome speech by the Coordinator of the club, Mr. Ishan Giri. The discussion covered a broad range of issues, from transparency and disclosures to regulatory sandbox theory, Board Composition and Independent director, Shareholders right and Whistleblowing mechanism and agency theory in terms of the Nepalese capital market and various public companies. The discussion also touched upon the issue of issuer rating of companies and corporate governance practices in investment and merchant banking industry.
In question answer session, there was active participation of the audience who raised questions to the panelists enthusiastically, which were addressed by the panelists with real life examples. The session was fruitful for all the participants, and more importantly it helped bring light to various issues that had remained dormant in the financial markets industry. The session closed with a thank you note from the Vice Coordinator of the club, Mr. Bishesh Narshing Amatya.
