Khaalisisi and Coca-Cola Nepal Launch “Samman Ghar” for Children of Women Waste Workers

On World Recycling Day, Khaalisisi, in partnership with Coca-Cola Beverages Nepal, inaugurated “Samman Ghar”, a safe and nurturing space for children of women waste workers. Located within Khaalisisi’s WOW Center, Well-Being Out of Waste, the facility supports children while their mothers contribute to Nepal’s recycling ecosystem, addressing the challenges of balancing work and childcare.

The initiative recognizes the vital yet often overlooked role of women in recycling, promoting dignity and well-being for both workers and their families. Khaalisisi plans to expand Samman Ghar with additional support, including health services, educational opportunities, and broader community programs. The project exemplifies how partnerships between social enterprises and private sector organizations can create a recycling system that is environmentally responsible and socially inclusive, benefiting both communities and the planet.
