Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Book 2,300 Violators in 24 Hours
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has taken action against 2,300 motorists for various traffic rule violations within the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 2.08 million in fines.
Among those penalized, 104 were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, while 177 were involved in illegal ride-sharing activities. Other major violations included 147 cases of traffic signal breaches, 105 instances of speeding, 56 lane discipline violations, and 152 cases of unnecessary horn use in restricted areas.
Additionally, 113 vehicles were found parked in prohibited zones, 141 drivers were caught driving on one-way roads, and 1,305 others were booked for miscellaneous traffic offences. The police stated that the enforcement drive aims to improve road safety and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations across the Kathmandu Valley.
