The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a notice, urging individuals, companies, and organizations currently occupying spaces within Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar, Kathmandu Metropolis-4, to evacuate the premises within one week.
This directive comes in response to the recent Special Court ruling, which declared the occupation by individuals, companies, and organizations in the area illegal, restoring government ownership of the land.
Deepak Adhikari, the assistant spokesperson for the Metropolis, conveyed that the local government is invoking the Local Government Operation Act -2074 BS and is calling for cooperation from all parties involved to safeguard public land.
The public notice issued on 9th Falgun states that if the directive is not adhered to, the local government will proceed to remove structures in the area following existing laws for the protection and management of the land.
