Kamlesh Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, warmly welcomed a distinguished audience of global investors and local stakeholders to the "Emerging Nepal Investment Summit 2024". In his opening remarks, Agrawal highlighted the significant investment opportunities available in Nepal, emphasizing the nation's readiness for sustainable growth and economic prosperity.

Addressing the summit, Agrawal expressed optimism about the country's development trajectory, focusing on the potential for strategic investments, innovative partnerships, and steadfast commitments to drive growth. He noted the pivotal role of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce in bridging government and private sector efforts over the past seven decades, facilitating commerce and industry advancements.

He outlined key sectors ripe for investment, including Hydropower, Green Hydrogen, Tourism, Manufacturing, Forestry, Herbs, Mines, Minerals, and Agricultural Products. He pointed to Nepal's demographic advantage, with over 57% of its population within the working age group, which presents substantial capacities for various sectors.

Agrawal also discussed Nepal’s strategic geographical position between India and China, which provides access to nearly 35% of the world's population, enhancing its appeal as a prime investment location.

He emphasized Nepal's unique attributes in health and wellness industries due to its abundance of medicinal and aromatic plants and its long history of traditional medicine.

The President acknowledged the global challenges of climate change and the shift towards zero emissions, identifying Nepal’s advantage in leading Green Hydrogen initiatives. He also highlighted ongoing government efforts to enhance the investment climate through regulatory amendments and the support of international and regional economic associations.

Concluding his speech, Agrawal encouraged all attendees to embrace innovation and collaboration to unlock Nepal's full potential and contribute to global economic growth. He expressed gratitude for the commitment shown by prospective investors and looked forward to fruitful discussions and outcomes from the summit.
