COVID -19 cases in recent weeks have been rising in Nepal, creating a health emergency throughout the country. Every day, more than 45% of total tests are tested positive for COVID-19. Although the recovery rate is above 70%, the number of new cases has been rising each day overloading an already fragile healthcare system and creating shortages of ventilators, oxygen, and other medical necessities to care for the infected.

This has created a situation where people are scared and anxious about their condition should they be infected. Even slight misinformation or negligence in taking care of yourself or your family at this time means a fatal outcome. With little or no information to properly take care of patients during this time, the chances of having a fatal outcome increase drastically.

To add some relief to this burning issue, Jeevee Health Pvt. Ltd. and NYEF have collaboratively offered a free consultancy service for COVID-19 patients on Jeevee’s App platform. Specialists with qualifications above MD and DM are available for a Free Online Video Consultancy Service twice a week. To avail of this service, you will have to download Jeevee app from the Playstore or App Store, register as a user, and book a free consultation through their Namaste Doctor feature. Currently, the service is available only on the Jeevee app. This service is launched under Jeevee’s existing service called Namaste Doctor where you can make video consultations with 1000+ of Nepal’s top specialists including endocrinologists, dermatologists, etc.

Jeevee Health Pvt. Ltd. has been involved in the e-pharmaceutical sector since 2019. Primarily working through their app Jeevee and newly launched website version www.jeevee.com, their goal is to change and reorganize health care in Nepal through technology. Namaste Doctor was launched in 2020 in three weeks in an effort to bridge the lack of access to clinical assistance during the pandemic. It distinguishes itself from other forms of telemedicine in the country by allowing doctors to provide real-time digital prescriptions and an in-house pharmacy from where patients may get their medicines and health essentials at home.

The Nepalese Youth Entrepreneurs’ Forum is a non-profit organization that aims at empowering positive business thinking. It seeks to foster collective leadership towards a better Nepal.

This service provided to people by Nepal’s Leading Health App and one of the active groups of the country is expected to provide some relief to the people who are isolating themselves at home without any proper supervision from medical professionals. It is hoped that this will contribute to make people more alert and take precautions which might, in turn, help in reducing the number of new infections.
