Janardan Sharma To Be Re-appointed as The Finance Minister of Nepal

The previous finance minister of Nepal, Janardan Sharma, has been reinstated in his position. Pushpa Kamal Dahal - Prachanda, the chairman of the Maoist Center, met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba this morning and recommended Sharma be nominated as the ministry's finance minister once again. He is scheduled to be sworn in today.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma resigned as soon as the legislature established a special parliamentary committee to look into the claim of tax fraud by including unapproved individuals in the creation of the fiscal year 2079/80 budget.

Finance Minister was accused of inviting unauthorized individuals to adjust the taxes and failing to address the economic problems the nation is experiencing.

However, on Friday, a report from the parliamentary special committee established to look into the situation found that no unapproved individuals had access to the Ministry of Finance during the budget development.
