IRD rewards taxpayers

KATHMANDU, March 31:

In a bid to increase tax compliance, Inland Revenue Department (IRD) held series of programs at its regional offices to reward top taxpayers.

IRD rewarded Shine Pharma, Corporate Development Bank, and Tannu International of Birgunj amid a program on Friday. The were honored for regularly filing tax details in time. Similarly, Nuplast Industries, Manakamana Oil Industry, Jyoti Rice Mill, and Rajesh Medicine of Bara were rewarded as best taxpayers.

Alpine Development Bank, MM Polymers and Tayal Brothers of Hetauda were also honored amid a function held in Hetauda. Similarly, Kaski-based firms Ramba General Foods and Industries, Kaski Finance, Gautam Electric and Electronic Center were awarded by IRD´s Pokhara regional office. IRD Director General Tanka Mani Sharma gave away the awards.



Sharma directed officials deployed at tas offices to put their efforts for controlling revenue leakage and widen the tax net. He also warned that IRD would raid godowns of suspicious traders in the near fugure.
