Investors’ sentiments uplift market

It was a very spectacular day for Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) as the index gained 4.8 or 1.18% points with more than 100 scrips trade today. After the surge of 6 points on 2nd September, the market didn’t had that much of volatility as the index moved within the range of 2 points of opening level. But today with the proposal of 40% cash dividend & 20% bonus share by Nabil Bank limited, closed at Rs 1490, have created a high expectation among the investors from such big companies eventually leading to high buyers in today’s market and helping to push the turnover around 80 million which is 41.99 % higher than yesterday’s. As the outcome of this the benchmark index was flying high in the green pasture, the index at the end of the day ended in high note at 412.43 level.
 
The proposal of Nabil not only created positive impact upon itself by adding Rs 64 in its tally but also help to push the Banking sector up by 1.8%. Similarly, the scrips of SCB, EBL HBL also went by Rs 68, Rs6 and Rs 18 respectively as the investors are expecting same return from these companies. Likewise, Insurance sector continues to boost for 6 consecutive trading days as today also it added 1.74%.Today also in this sector, Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Life Insurance Co. Nepal added heftily in its tally which has been continuing from past week. The stocks climbed by Rs 73 and Rs 43 to close at Rs 1,285 and Rs 1,183 respectively.

Similarly among other Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Development and Finance sector both added 0.16% and 0.3% points respectively. Whereas, the increase in Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Ltd. by Rs 18 helped to pull up the Manufacturing sector by 0.02%. Likewise, the raise in the stock of NTC by Rs 5 push the Other sector up by 0.88%.

Today there were two down fallers in sub-indices, Hydro and Hotels by 0.21% and 0.03% points respectively. In hydro the fall in the scrips of Arun Valley and Chilime contributed in its loss whereas in Hotels the decrease in scrip of Taragaon Regency Hotel outweighed the gain of Oriental Hotel Ltd.

Overall there were 101 scrips traded among which 45 scrips increased, 14 remain intact and 42 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Global IME Bank Limited  (GBIME), closed at Rs 211, with Rs 19 or 9.90%. Whereas, Valley Finance Limited (VFL), closed at Rs 80, was the Top loser with Rs 6 or 6.98%.Among the share trading above par value, Himalayan Gen. Insu. Co. Ltd. (HGI), closed at Rs 172, was the Top Loser with Rs 9 or 4.97%.

In case of highest share traded, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd., closed at Rs 134, topped with 32,825 units. In terms of turnover, Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) topped the category. Overall, 10,220 units worth Rs 12,569,255 via 63 transactions were done of NLIC; in which Broker no 47 (Neev Securities Pvt. Ltd.) was the most active broker with 58.60% stand alone dealing of NLIC , totaling 5,994 units worth Rs 7,366,622 via 23 transactions in which 1 was matching transaction of 90 units worth Rs 113,400.

The total turnover today was Rs 78,467,607 with 213,831 total traded shares and 1,430 total transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 390,341.92 Millions.
