Investment opportunities in Nepal discussed

The Embassy of Nepal in Tokyo on Friday organised a one day seminar on Investment Opportunities in Nepal on Friday.
Addressing the programme, Nepal i Ambassador to Japan Madan Kumar Bhattarai highlighted the importance of Nepal -Japan relationship, saying that the economic cooperation can bring the people of the two countries even closer.
Bhattarai also explained that Nepal has embarked on a new phase of political development after the successful CA election in November last year and the subsequent formation of a new government. “The new government gives utmost priority to the economic development.
It is keen to undertake business-friendly measures to facilitate foreign investment,” Bhattarai said in an embassy statement. On the occasion, Nepal Investment Board CEO Radhesh Pant highlighted the government’s policy, programme and the institutional framework for economic development and investment potentials.
Explaining that the government had studied the competitive advantageous areas for growth, Pant called on the Japanese business community to invest in those areas.
He assured to extend all possible support from the board to those interested in establishing their business in Nepal . Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa, senior officials from the Foreign Ministry of Japan, Japanese businessmen and representatives of the corporate sector were among those in attendance.
