INSURANCE SECTOR HELPS NARROW NEPSE’S LOSS

The Nepse index, which had witnessed more than three points decline till the end of today’s session, came to recoup in last few minutes to narrow its loss to 0.34 point. The benchmark index today settle at 811.12 level which was mainly attributed by late growth in insurance sector scrips.
After witnessing a steep decline of more than seven points yesterday, more investors and traders today opted to book their position which dragged the market on red zone for most of today’s session. However, the late rise in the demand of insurance sector’s scrips helped propelled the market near to yesterday’s closing.
As per the Nepse’s website, the local bourse which had suffered more than three points came to make steep climb up to today’s closing after the Insurance sub-indices gain jumped to 55.03 points from 3.98 points in last few minutes.
Along with Insurance, most of the sub-indices figure witnessed sharp change at the end which also attributed in steep incline of Nepse in last minute.
Hotels sector which was on red zone came to settle 18.39 points higher by the day’s end. Similar was the case of Hydro sector; the sector was suffering loss of more than 11 points but came to sustain 0.93 point gain at the end.
Development and Finance maintained in green throughout the day. At the end both added 2.16 points and 0.24 point respectively. As for Manufacturing, it advanced by 5.19 points.
While, Banking today plunged by 3.86 points and Others suffered loss of 3.52 points. Similarly Trading also declined by 3.13 points.
However, in spite of late recovery of market, the transactions and turnover witnessed slight decrease today. As most of the investors and traders are in wait and watch mode for the third quarter result of the listed companies, the participation in today’s market was slightly lower.
The turnover today came down to stand at Rs 236.23 million from Rs 287.78 million figure of yesterday. Likewise, the transaction figure which use to stand above 2,000 times, now has dwelled below the mentioned level; the figure today stood at 1,785 times. Similarly, the numbers of shares have also decreased to 558,945 units.
Altogether there were trade of 126 scrips, among which 55 scrips gained, 20 scrips remained intact and 51 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Rastriya Beema Sansthan (RBS), closed Rs 4658, with a gain of Rs 423 or 9.99 percent. Whereas, Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (CBBL), closed at Rs 913, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 56 or 5.78 percent.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1934, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 11,871 units of CHCL were traded through 113 transactions worth Rs 22,829,480.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 54 (Sewa Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 12.92 percent standalone dealing, totaling 3,066 units worth Rs 5,896,915 via 24 buying transactions.
