InnoVision Wins Build Nepal Hackathon 2026 with AI Solution to Protect Farmers' Crops

Team InnoVision from Sunway College won the Build Nepal Hackathon 2026, organized by Mid-Valley International College, with an AI-powered solution designed to protect farmers' crops from the growing monkey menace in rural Nepal. The four-member team received the grand prize of Rs. 50,000, while Sentinaz, a team from Mid-Valley International College, secured the runner-up position and won Rs. 25,000 for its digital transportation management solution.

The two-day hackathon brought together more than 60 participants in 21 multidisciplinary teams, who developed technology-based prototypes addressing challenges in smart agriculture, smart cities, tourism, education, cybersecurity, and the digital economy using AI, IoT, robotics, and cloud technologies. Organizers and industry experts highlighted the importance of practical, innovation-driven learning, emphasizing the need to integrate AI into Nepal's education system and support young innovators in developing real-world technology solutions.
