Infrastructure development as per PPP-Mahat
CHITWAN, JAN 13:
Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat stressed the need to develop economic infrastructure as per the Public Private Partnership (PPP)model.
Speaking at a workshop organised by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the Investment Board and Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Saturday, leader Mahat said the obstructions being caused to development works were the main problem of today.
He also stressed the urgency of enabling easy environment as the ongoing obstructions to the Upper Karnali and Arun Third hydropower projects would not allow opportunity for investment.
Nepal has abundant opportunity if environment is created for investors to make investment in a confident manner, he said, adding that the country could tap huge potentials of tourism, agriculture and rafting.
On the occasion, Chief Secretary Leelamani Paudel said the government is effortful to create investment-friendly environment.
He stressed that the business community of the country should pay attention towards putting in more investment for infrastructure development and in the service sector.
The programme was participated in by different economists and entrepreneurs.
