Industry Ministry content with progress in its projects

KATHMANDU,DEC 31: 

The Ministry of Industry (MoI) has claimed that its physical progress in the first four months of the current fiscal year was 69.21 per cent while financial progress was 69.75 per cent. 

The report has stated that the overall progress of the projects under the MoI was satisfactory during the period. 

This information was given at a meeting of the progress review and Ministry-level Problems Resolution Committee held on Thursday.

Joint Secretary, Yam Kumari Khatiwada, at the Ministry claimed that the targeted programmes of the Small and Cottage Industry Training Center and Micro Entrepreneurship Development Programme were met completely during the period.

However, the progress report has stated that less than 50 per cent progress was achieved on Geo-Scientific Survey and Research Project, and the Petroleum Exploration Project. 

Of the Rs 1.25 billion total budget allocated for the projects, Rs 1.06 billion was spent, according to the Ministry. 

At the meeting, Minister for Industry Anil Jha said the government was committed to resolving the problems seen in the industrial sector.
