Industrialist Rathi out of contact for nine days

BIRATNAGAR, JAN 20 - 

Industrialist Ganga Bisan Rathi , who had gone to India through Kakarbhitta border point, has been out of contact for the last nine days.

His family members registered a complaint at the police on Friday.

Rathi has industries related to oil, rice and jute. He is the owner of Chandra Shiva Rice Mill, Ghailachhap Oil and wheat flour mills. Rathi is also the former president of the Morang Merchant Association and holds the post of chairman in about a dozen social organisations.

Rathi’s brother Champalal said the former has been out of contact since January 11, when he set out for Siliguri, India, in his car to attend a meeting. “My brother made a telephone call on January 11, informing that he reached Siliguri,” said Champalal. “Since then, he has remained out of contact.”

Champalal they sought the police help after none of their Indian relatives knew Rathi’s whereabouts. Morang Police DSP Uma Prasad Chaturbedi said Rathi’s elder son Haribansha Rathi has registered a complaint at the police office.
