KATHMANDU, May 21:

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, executive chairman of International Money Express (IME) and chairman of Global IME Bank, on Wednesday delivered keynote speech in the Regional Conference on Money Service Business (RCMSB) held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia.

Dhakal was invited by the Bank Negara Malaysia, the organizer of the event, to participate in the three-day conference, according to a statement issued by the IME Group on Wednesday.

“The risks of money laundering and terrorism financing are relatively low in Nepal through the use of private sector’s remittance channels, as migrant workers’ remittances constitute a large share of money transfers to Nepal with relatively low transaction value,” Dhakal said in his keynote speech, according to the statement.

The conference is attended by the representatives from World Bank, International Association of Money Transfer Network, regulatory agencies, commercial banks, money transfer companies, and experts in the money transfer business, according to a statement.
