ICRA Nepal Upgrades Chirkhwa Hydropower’s Rating to BB

ICRA Nepal Limited has upgraded the issuer rating of Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited from [ICRANP-IR] D to [ICRANP-IR] BB, indicating a moderate risk of default in meeting financial obligations. The rating reflects the company’s improved creditworthiness but is not tied to any specific debt instrument.
ICRA Nepal also clarified that plus (+) or minus (–) signs may be added to ratings from AA to C to show relative strength within each category—for example, BB+ is stronger than BB, while BB– is slightly weaker.
