House endorses budget for fiscal year 2014/15

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: The Legislature Parliament endorsed the budget for fiscal year 2014/15 on Sunday.

The House endorsed the budget today by passing the financial bill, the bill on national debt recovery and the bill on debt and collaterals.

Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat had tabled the fiscal budget at the Parliament on July 13.

On Tuesday, the parliament had endorsed the Appropriation Bill, which allocates the fiscal budget to government ministries and their subordinate bodies.

It took three months to pass the Bill as discussions on it were affected in the wake of House obstructions by the opposition parties’ led by UCPN (Maoist) for 40 days.

Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat had presented budget of Rs. 618 billion for fiscal year 2014/15.
