Home Minister Sudhan Gurung conducted an on-site inspection of Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday evening following repeated public complaints over service quality and passenger treatment.

The minister’s visit comes amid growing dissatisfaction among travelers, particularly migrant returnees, who have raised concerns about delays, harassment, and inefficiencies at the country’s only international airport.

During the inspection, Minister Gurung instructed security personnel and airport staff to ensure smooth, efficient, and respectful service for all passengers. He emphasized that unnecessary inconvenience to travelers must be avoided and that service delivery should reflect professionalism and accountability.

Highlighting a sensitive issue, the Home Minister stressed that troubling migrant returnees at the airport must immediately stop. He underscored the need for a more humane and dignified approach toward citizens returning from foreign employment.

Minister Gurung also warned authorities against conducting excessive or unjustified inspections in the name of security. He stated that unnecessary checking of clothes and personal belongings not only causes inconvenience but also undermines public trust.

Issuing a stern message, the Home Minister directed all concerned bodies to ensure that such complaints do not arise in the future. He urged officials to maintain discipline, transparency, and efficiency in airport operations, assuring that the government is committed to improving public service standards at key national facilities.
