HINT OF POLITICAL TRANQUILTIY BOOST NEPSE

The recent positive development in the political arena of the country has aroused the secondary market from the weeklong of slackness.

The likeliness of Mohan Baidya led CPN-Maoist along with its counterparts to register and contest in the upcoming November election has brought an encouraging sentiment in the market, making the investors come out of their caution zone.

Such an affirmative development in the market today propelled the index to break the losing streak of six consecutive trading days. The Nepse index today surged by 4.09 points to close at 540.47 levels

Among the sub-indices, Insurance made the highest gain as it rocketed up by a huge 55.27 points; the recent climbs in this sector has been mainly underpinned by the high demand from the Institutional Investors.

Citing a high demand for the scrips of this sector, the companies like Lumbini General Insurance (LGI), National LifeInsu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL) and NLG Insurance company Ltd. (NLG) today rallied by 10% each amounting Rs 18, Rs 88 and Rs 46 respectively. All these three companies were the best performers of the day.

Similarly, Others also grew by 3.52 points alongside 3.27 points jump of Banking and 3.03 incline of Hydro. Likewise, Finance also gained 0.06 points whereas Development was the only sector to suffer a loss of 0.62 points.

All in all, the scrips of 101 companies were traded, out of which 63 scrips gained, 13 remained intact and 25 scrips lost.

The worst performers for the day was, Infrastructure Development Bank Limited (IFDB), closed at Rs 62, with Rs 6or 8.82% loss. Among the shares trading above par, United Insurance Co. (Nepal) Ltd. (UIC), closed at Rs 159, was the top loser with 11 or 6.47%.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund-1 (NIB1), closed at Rs 10.00, topped with 36,952 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME), closed at Rs 441, topped with 23,584 units.

In terms of turnover, Lumbini Bank Limited Promoter Share (LUBLPO), closed at Rs 150, topped with 159,900 units worth Rs 23,985,000 via 3 transactions.

Among ordinary shares, Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) topped with turnover worth Rs 10,178,547 via 85 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the GBIME was Broker No 42 (Sani Securities Co. Ltd.) with 52.04%; amounting Rs 10,594,720 via 26 transactions totaling  24,692 units which includes 6 matching transactions tallying  8,991 units worth Rs 3,838,857.

Overall, 591,977 units of share were traded by 1,910 transactions worth Rs 170,671,021; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 538,519.06 million.
