HINT OF ELECTION DATE BOOST NEPSE

The indication from the HLPC (High Level Political Committee) to announce poll dates within three days time helped to create a jubilant environment in the market today. The delay in announcement of election date has kept the investors in wait and watch scenario for the past several months. With the positive sign from the HLPC about the election date, the much needed pump in the investors’ confidence seems to be revitalized as the market index today made a bullish rally of 4.63 points to close at 503.65 levels.
Among the sub indices, Hotels and Manufacturing were the only two sectors with the loss of 1.13 and 10.48 points respectively. Whereas, Insurance made a hefty gain of 25.42 points as the incline in Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) and Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC) by Rs 111 each respectively helped to make such a huge surge . Similarly, Banking, Development and Finance made a jump of 5.61, 0.74 and 0.85 points respectively. Likewise Hydro and Others sector also made a boost of 1.71 and 4.7 points respectively.
Overall there were trades of 89 scrips among which 53 scrips increased 10 remained intact and 26 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), closed at Rs 1221, with Rs 111 or 10% gain. Whereas, Nepal Consumer Development Bank Ltd. (NCDBL), closed at Rs 93, was the worst performer with Rs 10 or 9.71% loss. Among the scrips trading above par Innovative Development Bank Ltd. (INDB), closed at Rs 113, was the top loser with Rs 12 or 9.60% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1) , closed at Rs 10.75, topped with 55,648 units. In terms of ordinary scrips, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CTBNL), closed at Rs 146, topped with 28,893 units. In case of turnover, Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), closed at Rs 1810, topped with 6,450 units Rs 11,675,098 via 9 transactions; in which Broker no 17 (ABC Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 97.70% stand alone dealing of the SCB, tallying 12,604 units worth Rs 22,813,240 via 4 matching transactions.
Altogether there were trade of 278,544 units of share via 1,279 transactions worth Rs 73,279,533; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 499,115.12 Millions.
