Himalayan Bank takes financial literacy events to all provinces; observes Global Money Week 2023 with range of awareness events

Himalayan Bank Limited has conducted financial literacy program under its Corporate Social Responsibility on the occasion of “Global Money Week 2079” i.e. celebrated from March 20, 2023 to March 26, 2023 as per the notice of NRB.

The financial literacy program was conducted at all seven provinces of the country by the HBL Province Offices in co-ordination with 24 Branch Offices under them. The program targeted towards the college students, their parents, teachers, social workers, business person, customers of the Bank and the locals of the particular areas. 

In the program, the Bank highlighted on basic banking knowledge, the services and facilities provided by the Bank, importance of financial literacy, financial management and preparation of personal or family related budget, importance of developing saving attitude, various loan products of the Bank including Subsidized Loan and subsidy provided on that loan, legal process of remittance, illegal way of remittance through Hundi and its negative impacts, clean note policy and better ways to handle cash and so forth.

The Bank believes that this financial literacy program would help all the participants to understanding banking process and also help them enhance their financial decision in their personal as well as professional life.
