Highest 671 coronavirus infection cases found in 24 hours; total reaches to 7,848

Nepal on June 18 has recorded an additional 671 COVID-19 infection cases, the highest so far. Two persons are confirmed to have been died from the infection today. With this, the death toll from the infection has hit 22. The Ministry of Health and Population at its regular conference here confirmed 671 infection cases including 6 in the Kathmandu Valley (591 men and 80 women) across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the infected, three are from Bhaktapur, two from Kathmandu, and one from Lalitpur. With this, the infection cases across the country have hit 7,848 (7,229 men and 619 women). The number of infected who were discharged from hospitals after being cured has reached 1,186 (1,072 men and 114 women) across the country with 19 in the 24 hours. So far, the infection has spread across 74 districts, according to the Ministry's Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam.

On June 17, a 46-year-old man of Godawari municipality-4 in Kailali died from the infection at Seti Provincial Hospital, said the Ministry. He was admitted to the hospital right after being found infected with the virus.

Likewise, on June 17, a 43-year-old woman of Lamki Chuha municipality-2 in Kailali died from the infection at Nepalgunj Medical College. She was admitted to the hospital on June 13 for head injuries. She was tested positive for the infection on June 16.
