HAN elects new executive committee

KATHMANDU, March 29:

The 43th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) held on Friday elected a 21-member executive committee under the leadership of BK Shrestha for the next two years. Amarman Shakya and Sirjana Rana have been elected the first and second vice president respectively.

Similarly, Binayak Shah and Ghanendra Bahadur Shrestha are the new general secretary and treasurer respectively. Executive members in the committee include immediate past president Shyam Sundar Lal Kashapati, MA Lari, Dinesh Bist, Pravin Bahadur Pandey, Binod Shankar Shrestha, Dinesh Tuladhar, Vishal Kumar, Sunil Shakya, Abhishek Shrestha, Rakesh Das Shrestha, Ram Kumar Puri, Dorje Lama Gurung, Lakshman Aryal, Biplav Poudel, Ghanashyam Shrestha and Rajan Shrestha.

Earlier, the AGM was inaugurated by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhim Acharya. Inagurating the AGM, Acharya said that tourism is the back-bone of Nepali economy and high potentials to create employment and increase foreign exchange earning.

Likewise, Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudel highlighted stressed that the government should take initiatives to promote the tourism industry.
