Govt committed to ending problems in industrial sector: Jha

BIRGUNJ, JAN 27: 

Minister for Industry Anil Kumar Jha has said that government was sensitive towards resolving the problems in the industrial sector.

Speaking at an interaction programme organized by the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday, the Industry Minister said that government had been making efforts to resolve problems seen in the Bara and Parsa corridors.

He urged the business community to get involved in a campaign of creating investment-friendly environment in the country.

Similarly, Industry Secretary Krishna Gyawali said the Ministry was serious towards creating industry-friendly environment with necessary amendments to the regulations.

The Ministry was not able to do enough for the promotion of industrial sector in the present political situation in the country, he said.

Director General of Department of Small and Cottage Industries Bagendra Raj Sharma Poudel said industry-friendly was the need of the hour and underlined the need of public-private cooperation to promote small and cottage industries.

Chamber President Ashok Baidya power outage and labour problem are the main challenges facing industries in Bara, Parsa corridors at present.

He stressed the need of formulating necessary strategy for the development of industrial sector, bringing relief package targeting sick industries and ensuring investment-friendly environment.

Chamber general secretary Gopal Kedia and senior vice president Pradeep Kedia said power crisis and lack of skilled human resources are the major obstacles for bringing in new investment in the country.
