Governor inaugurates Global IME branch

Global IME Bank has opened a new branch office in Pushpa Lal Chowk of Nepalgunj. The branch was inaugurated by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Yuba Raj Khatiwada, according to a bank statement. Speaking on the occasion, Khatiwada stressed the need to bring small farmers to the banking network by extending credit to them at affordable interest rates. The bank has so far opened 62 branch offices in places as far as Taplejung and Rukum.

The bank, which has a customer base of 255,000, has so far collected around Rs 28 billion in deposits and extended Rs 23 billion in loans.
