Government to scan Dhukuti business
KATHMANDU, JUNE 7:
The High-level Financial Sector Coordination Committee meeting chaired by caretaker finance minister Barshaman Pun today decided to execute the study report on Dhukuti — an unauthorised deposit and withdrawal scheme — prepared by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
The meeting decided to form a taskforce led by chief financial advisor to study legal and practical aspects of Dhukuti transaction management. “Joint secretaries from Finance Ministry, Ministry of Law and executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank will also be included in the taskforce.”
The meeting also decided to form another taskforce led by joint secretary at the Public Enterprises Coordination Committee to carry out a study on the lease period of Bhaktapur Bricks and Tiles Factory.
A separate committee led by deputy governor of NRB Maha Prasad Adhikari has been formed
to carry out a study on managing funds to complete hydropower projects which are on the verge of completion.
“It is very urgent to take necessary steps to complete hydropower projects on time to reduce the current load shedding.”
