Government Prioritizes Youth and Women Entrepreneurship for Economic Transformation
A special interaction program on “Entrepreneurship: Challenges, Reforms and Youth Inspiration” was organized by the Nepal Women Chamber at the Nepal Chamber of Commerce. Speaking at the event, Member of Parliament and RSP Treasurer Lima Adhikari said the government is working with long-term economic plans under a stable administration and is committed to creating a private sector-friendly environment.
She highlighted reforms such as digitalization, paperless systems, one-day industry registration, startup tax exemptions, seed funding, and expanded financial access. The government aims to generate 1.2 million jobs and promote innovation, women entrepreneurship, and rural IT-based employment opportunities.
Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal stressed the importance of utilizing women and youth power for national development and emphasized the need for financial access, technology, and international market connectivity for women entrepreneurs.
Other speakers pointed out challenges including youth migration, lack of implementation of collateral-free loans, export difficulties, limited market access, and the need for stronger startup and empowerment programs for women-led businesses.
