Government Declares Public Holiday on Bhadra 23 for Gen Z Martyr's Day

The government has decided to observe Bhadra 23 as Gen Z Martyrs’ Day and declare it a public holiday. The Cabinet made the decision at its meeting held on Monday.

The government has also declared Bhadra 22 as a National Day of Mourning in memory of those who lost their lives in the Rasuwa floods.

To support the recovery of flood-affected individuals, industries and businesses in Rasuwa, the government will introduce an integrated business recovery plan that includes tax and customs-duty relief along with other support measures.

The Cabinet has also approved the import of 25,000 metric tonnes of sugar through Salt Trading Corporation and Food Management and Trading Company at a 1% customs duty. Security personnel involved in post-flood search and rescue operations will receive risk allowances and meal expenses. Those injured during the operations will receive free medical treatment, while the families of personnel who die in the line of duty will receive Rs.10 crores.
