Government Announces Public Holiday to Honor Qatar Emir's State Visit
The government has declared a public holiday for tomorrow, Tuesday, in honor of the state visit by Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Nepal.
In a cabinet meeting held today at Singha Durbar, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma announced the decision to observe a public holiday tomorrow to mark the beginning of the Emir of Qatar’s visit on Baishakh 11.
Additionally, the Cabinet has resolved to recommend President Ramchandra Paudel issue an ordinance for amendments to certain Nepalese Acts to enhance investment facilitation.
Minister Sharma, also the government's spokesperson, conveyed that revisions are set to be made to the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Regulations, enabling three-tiered support for the repair, restoration, and rebuilding of private residences impacted by disasters.
The meeting also involved personnel changes, transferring Madhukumar Marasini to the role of Finance Secretary and relocating Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar to the Prime Minister's Office.
