Good performance in Sub-indices push Nepse further UP

The strong performance from all the sectors today pushed the market index even further today. Even though the Nepal Stock Exchange breached the 460 mark, the decline in the Others sector dragged down the benchmark index to close at 458.17 level, narrowing its gain only to 6.09 points. With the rally in the local bourse to new heights every day, more and more investors are investing in the secondary market as the return is higher than the other alternative investments available in the market.

The action taken against the NB group Promoters have helped to create a positive ripple among the investors towards Nepal Bangladesh Bank (NBB) and Banking sector today also, the scrip gained Rs 11 and sector inclined by 7.92 points. As for Development and Finance sector, both also inclined by 3.02 and 1.13 points respectively. The publication of better first quarterly report of the Muktinath Bikash Bank Ltd. (MNBBL) helped the scrip to propel by Rs 25 or 9.77% making it the highest gainer today. The company has posted net profit of Rs 22.12 million which is higher than the corresponding quarter net profit of Rs 14.29 million. Whereas the Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL) which posted a net profit of Rs 7.22 million only gained Rs 1.

Among all the sectoral indices today, Hydro sector surge by most points as it added 32.82 points. The heavy incline in the scrip of Chilime Hydro Power Co. Ltd. (CHCL) by Rs 43 mainly pushed the sector further. Similarly, Insurance sector too had double digit growth today as it added 10.22 points. Today also the jump in the price of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) and Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) by Rs 91 and 26 boosted the sector up. As for Hotels, it increased by 0.38 points whereas Others sector remain intact at 783.38 points.

Overall there were 91 scrips traded among which 61 scrips increased, 14 remain intact and 16 scrips decreased. The highest loser for the day was Surya Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SLICL), closed at Rs 179, with Rs 167 or 8.67%.

In case of highest share traded, and turnover, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 133, topped with 75,515 units worth Rs 9,978,880 via 101 transactions; in which Broker No 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) was the most active broker with 21.75% stand alone dealing of KIST, tallying 16,500 units worth Rs 2,171,210 via 19 transactions which includes one matching transaction of 5,000 units worth Rs 650,000.

The total turnover today was 84,970,537 which is comparatively Rs 12,131,454 or 16.66% higher than prior trading session. Overall 311,144 units of shares were traded via 1,392 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 433,806.63 Millions.
