Golyan Foundation Brings Gen-Z Martyrs’ Children and Flood-Affected Kids Together for Children’s Day

Golyan Foundation brought together children of Gen-Z movement martyrs and those affected by the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods to celebrate National Children’s Day in Bidur, Nuwakot.

The event was held at the Chandrajyoti Secondary School holding center, where around 60 flood-affected children joined 15 children of Gen-Z martyrs studying in Kathmandu. The children took part in games, face paintng and other recreational activities, while also getting an opportunity to meet and build friendships.

Around 120 children and parents participated in the event. The foundation said the program was organized to provide children affected by loss and displacement with a chance to enjoy their childhood and connect with others facing similar hardships.

Golyan Foundation CEO Jyoti Gaire said the initiative aimed to protect children’s right to happiness and help bring a sense of normalcy to those who had experienced major losses at a young age.

The foundation has been providing educational scholarships to 31 children of Gen-Z martyrs through Grade 12. Each child receives a monthly scholarship of Rs. 40,000, amounting to Rs. 480,000 annually.
