Gold Sees Rs. 2,300 Drop per Tola First Day of the Week; Silver Also Declines Due to Fluctuation in International Markets

Gold has been losing straight for three consecutive days. The price of gold and silver saw an aggressive spike during the pandemic and economic turbulence. Now that the world economy seems to be nursing its wounds, the international market for precious metals is highly fluctuating, and the impacts are also felt at home.

According to the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of fine gold today is Rs. 93,000 per tola today. Meanwhile, the price of tejabi gold is Rs. 92,500 per tola. This is Rs. 2,300 decline per tola from the rate maintained last week. Last Friday, fine gold traded at Rs. 95,300 per tola and tejabi gold traded at Rs. 94,800 per tola.

The price of silver also saw a drop today. Silver is trading today at Rs. 1,270 per tola compared to its price at Rs. 1,330 per tola last Friday.

In the month of Poush, fine gold has traded as high as Rs. 96,700 per tola while Tejabi gold has traded as high as Rs. 96,200 per tola. Meanwhile, silver has fared as high as Rs, 1,340 per tola.
