Gold prices reach record high in local market after gaining Rs.700 per tola on a single day; silver traded at Rs 940 per tola

Gold prices make headlines once again as the value of gold hit an all-time high on June 21, 2020, i.e. today in the local market. The price of gold which remained constant for the past week increased by Rs.700/tola today. As of today, fine gold was traded at Rs.90600/tola while tejabi gold was traded at Rs.90160/tola, as per the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealer Association.

Due to the increase of gold prices in the international markets, ripple effects of the same have impacted the Nepalese market as well. As of Friday, gold was traded at $1756.50/ounce on the international markets.

The value of silver increased by Rs.10/tola and stood at Rs.940/tola today. Silver was traded at Rs.830/tola on Friday.
