Gold hits another record high
KATHMANDU:
The domestic gold price once again hit record today and traded at Rs 54,203 for a tola (11.664 grams) following its rally in the international bullion market.
The international commodity markets witnessed gold crossing over $1,900 per ounce as the European debt crisis does not seem to get abated anytime soon along with the deepening fear of double dip recession in US, the investors have flocked to gold.
The European bourses witnessed huge plunge on the opening day of the week along with higher jobless rate of US once again fuelled the gold rally. The precious yellow metal prices that had shut above $1,800 per ounce were supposed to have cooled down last week but bounced back again this week.
The sister metal silver price also rose to a record of Rs 1,250 per tola in the domestic market today.
