Glocal After School opens Entries for Skill Week; 20 to 26 of January to witness series of free seminars for career growth of students

Glocal After School, is an entity of Glocal Pvt. Ltd. With the concept to develop what the market demands by activities for well skilled human resource, GAS provides training which focuses on employability skills.

Recently, Glocal Pvt. Ltd. researched of Skills for Future Jobs in Nepal for Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security's Training Department and to promote its outcome and promote Skill as a whole, here Glocal is out with Skill Week, for which the entries are being open from today. Skill Week is a week full of events, creativity, skills, inspirations, insights. This is a week dedicated to perform workshops related to different skills, skill shows and exhibitions, learning hub and sessions along with entertainment components making this as an infotainment week honoring skill. With the aim to collaborate with Industry, Educators and Government to engage and promote the extensive skilling opportunities and showcasing emerging skills; ranging from business, services, technology to art and culture field the event is being organized from 20th January- 26th of January.

With the strong motive to build the Ecosystem for Skill to Employment the event is being organized. This event is an open platform for youth, i.e. the entries are free, to participate and know about skills, its importance and scope in the market. This event will help youth to explore, get engaged and educate in the various skills.

This event would be the platform for youths to boost their insights, creativity and learn through a reality check. Event will also deliver some exciting opportunities to ensure youth to develop the right skills they need to succeed in the changing market”- says Ms. Kajol J. Thakur (Associate Director of Glocal Pvt. Ltd.).

The event showcases four distinct skill areas as brought to attention by the research mentioned earlier i.e. Art and Culture, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Hospitality and Science and Technology. Main highlights of the event are Talks, Presentations, Exhibitions, Displays, Competition, Workshops, Trainings, Entertainment and Foods. 

From 20th to 24th January workshops and trainings regarding respective skills will be provided by different organizations at various venue throughout the week (Schedule attached). A Film Festival will also be organized on Life Skills (which would be a two-minute film on Life Skills); we will be taking applications for the film festival. On 25th of January, Skill Fest and Exhibition will be organized at King's College, Babarmahal where the event will comprise of talks, case study presentation by different organizations, workshops, competitions, entertainment, food fest.

During the closing of the session on 26th January, CEO Unplugged, a yearly forum organized by Glocal Pvt. Ltd. comprising series of panel discussion where we try to establish a forum to discuss about contemporary business challenges, opportunities and futuristic view with a sight of experiential learning to the new comers in the business and students with an objective “Today Meets Tomorrow” is being held along with the Closing Ceremony of the Skill Week where four veterans from respective field will be awarded for their dedication and inspiring people to follow and sharpen the skills.
