Global IME Bank to open office in Australia

Global IME Bank is preparing to open its representative office in Australia. Issuing a statement on Friday, the bank said that it has already received final approval from the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to open its office in Australia.
The bank has also received approval from Australian Prudential Regulation Authority after getting a pre-approval from NRB. “In light of this development, Global IME has already initiated the process for opening an office in Australia,” the statement issued by the bank reads.
The foray of the bank in Australia is expected to increase trade and investment between Australian and Nepali businessmen and facilitate promotional activities. “It will also simplify and facilitate banking as well as remittance activities with Nepal for Nepali students residing in Australia,” the statement added.
The bank has also obtained a pre-approval from NRB to open contact/representative offices in other countries of the world. “The bank is currently working toward getting approval from the concerned authorities of those countries. In long-run, it aims to establish a multi-national network of offices all over the world,” the statement added.
