Global IME Bank revamps its services to minimize Covid-19 risks: Free Mobile Banking, ATM, and many more

Global IME Bank has refurnished its services and way of operations to minimize the risks posed by Covid-19.

In order to minimize crowding in the branches, the bank has allotted different time slots for various services. For instance, branches of Global IME Bank can only accept cash and cheque deposits from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Similarly, 1 to 3:30 pm is allocated for amount withdrawal. Then, the time from 4 pm to 5:30 will be dedicated to account opening and miscellaneous queries.

It should be noted that branches might change these time slots depending on customer demand. Also, neighboring branches should operate alternate services at any given time. This enables the customers to get a service at other nearby branches if a branch is on the time slot for another service. For example, if a branch is providing cash withdrawal services in the morning, the other nearby branch must provide the deposit receipt services.

Also, since IPO issues are frequent these days, the bank will automatically renew the Demat accounts of its customers so they do not have to visit the branches physically. Furthermore, in order to streamline operations, the Kantipath branch and Kamaladi branch in Kathmandu are especially dedicated to providing Demat account opening services.

Interestingly, anyone with more than Rs. 1,000 of savings in the bank can make an ATM card for free. This is done to encourage remote payment and avoid crowding at the branches. Also, the bank is providing its mobile payment services for free for six months to encourage digital transactions. What's more, customers can register for mobile banking services from their own mobile phones.
